TOLERANT TO VARIOUS EXTREME ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS COTTON VARIETIES HAVE BEEN CREATED

There have been created a new, medium staple cotton varieties resistant to drought, soil salinity and pathogens of wilt diseases C-6570 (NAP 00156, 02.28.2017), C-9088 (NAP 00193, 02.03.2018) and CP-2530 (NAP 00207, 07.12). 2018) with the participation of researcher of the “Technological fiber quality researches” Laboratory of the Research institute for cotton breeding, seed production and cultivation agrotechnologies at the Scientific Production Center for Agriculture and Food supply of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and as well received patents of the Agency of Intellectual property of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

C-6570 was created using the long-term individual selection method of the traditional cotton breeding by Avtonomov V.A., Khalmanov B.A., Namazov Sh.E., Kurbanov A.Yu., Khusanov Kh. and Udaeva K. in the framework of the projects financed from the budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 2018, seeds were propagated in the primary elite farm of preliminary seeds of the new cotton varieties in the Kuva district, Fergana region.

С-9088 was created using the long-term individual selection method of traditional cotton breeding by Sukurov MP., Khalmanov BA, Khodjambergenov NM,  Mirakhmedov MS and Sodykov Kh. in the framework of the projects financed from the budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 2018, seeds were propagated in the primary elite farm of preliminary seeds multiplication of the new cotton varieties in the Kasbiy district, Kashkadarya region.

CP-2530 was created using gamma irradiation on dry cotton seeds - by the method of mutagenesis by Khalmanov BA, Sukurov MP, Namazov Sh. E., Khusanov Kh., Khusanov F. Kh., Togaev B.N., Dzhabborov J.S. and Tashmetov M.Yu. in the framework of the National Project UZB5005 of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) In 2018, the seeds were propagated in the “Surkhan” primary elite farm for preliminary seeds multiplication of new cotton varieties in the Djarkurgan district, Surkhandarya region.
